SCAM ALERT BEWARE OF CARD CHIPS SWAPPING
 
Fraudsters are continuously developing new methods to steal card information and perform unauthorized transactions. Recent fraud schemes include:
Counterfeit card chip fraud, where criminals remove or replace the original chip on a physical card and use it to conduct unauthorized transactions without the cardholder's knowledge.

Online fraud,, where criminals use fake websites, phishing emails, fraudulent SMS messages, social media scams, or counterfeit payment pages to obtain card details, OTPs, and banking credentials.

How to prevent and protect yourself:
1. Keep Your Physical Card Secure
  • Always keep your card within sight when making payments at restaurants, shops, or other merchant locations.
  • Ensure your card is returned immediately after each transaction.
  • Check your card before and after each transaction to ensure it has not been exchanged with another card.
  • Regularly inspect the card chip and immediately report any signs of damage, tampering, or unusual changes, especially around the chip area.
2. Protect Your Card and Banking Information
  • Never share your card number, CVV, PIN, OTP, passwords, or online banking credentials with anyone.
  • KBank Vietnam will never ask for your PIN, OTP, passwords, or confidential card information via phone, email, SMS, social media, or messaging applications.
  • Be cautious of unsolicited calls, messages, emails, or links requesting your personal or banking information.
3. Use Safe and Trusted Online Payment Channels
  • Shop only on reputable websites, applications, and trusted merchants.
  • Verify website addresses before entering your card information.
  • Avoid clicking payment links from unknown or suspicious sources.
  • Exercise caution when linking your card to digital wallets or online platforms.
  • Avoid storing card information on shared or public devices.
4. Monitor Your Transactions Regularly
  • Enable transaction notifications whenever available.
  • Review transaction alerts and account statements regularly.
  • Promptly report any suspicious, unauthorized, or unfamiliar transactions to KBank Vietnam.
5. What Should You Do If You Suspect Fraud?
  • Immediately lock or block your card via KBank Vietnam's application or contact Customer Service.
  • Request a card replacement if you suspect your card has been tampered with, substituted, or compromised.
  • Contact KBank Vietnam immediately if you detect unauthorized card usage or suspicious transactions.
